Virginia Law School posts record revenue collection from alumni

The University of Virginia School of Law's alumnus have done their school proud. The school ended its fiscal year 2006-2007 with proceeds worth $9.8 million a record high among all annual gifts by altogether 7,643 alumni. More than 50% of the school's alumni participated in the annual campaign. It also amassed another $4.5 million in unrestricted gifts and total gift revenue worth $13.9 million. A nonprofit corporation, the University's Foundation receives, administers, and manages private gifts from its alumni and friends. Luis Alvarez, Jr., '88, president and chief executive officer of the Law School Foundation said that the school's success depends heavily on the alumnus' "loyalty."
