Editorial: No budget extortion
It has not been the General Assembly’s finest hour, but in the end, legislators appear to be on their way to doing the right thing.
Tuesday night, the budget committees of both houses agreed to deep-six a proposed amendment to the 2010-2011 state budget that would have withheld $250,000 from the University of Maryland School of Law until its environmental law clinic disclosed the names of its clients for the last two years.
