I grew up in Alabama, got my undergraduate at Alabama and felt it was only natural to attend the law school there. It didn't hurt that I got a scholarship.

I knew from the start that I was not going to practice in the state, but felt confident entering my first year that I would not have a problem getting a job once I had my JD.

The career services department simply can not help you find a job unless you 1) are in the top 20% of your class and 2) want to work in Alabama. I did not finish in the top 20%. I took the New Jersey bar exam and passed. The school's career services office has found 0 jobs for me, and has no words of advice.

The school maintains a high reputation and ranking within the southeast and magazines. That reputation does not reach much farther than Tennessee and Georgia...to the rest of the world, Alabama brings up images of banjos, overalls and governors blocking school entrances.

Will you get a quality education at the school? Hell yes. It is a great school and the professors are an eccentric, but outstanding, group. Will that education get you a job outside the deep south? Not unless your daddy works at the firm you apply to.

Talking about going beyond the South zone...I believe its completely based on your performance. There are times when even though all your scores in law school are to the topmost levels students end up taking up a different profession altogether. Just take a deep breath and give it a shot!

first of all make your thoghts positive that whatever you do it will recognize by world coz you will do in such a way that will leave an good impression ,so go ahead with positive attitude everything will be in your way what u wanted.
